Candice Thompson

Co-Founder/CEO/RN

Candice is the heart and soul of our team, guiding the overall direction of Preferred Care, ensuring operational efficiency, fostering positive workplace culture and advocating for our industry. Her goal is to drive Preferred Care for growth and success through positive, clear and strong leadership, and by focusing on building genuine and positive relationships with staff, clients and members.

Candice has a bachelor’s degree in nursing, and is a registered nurse working in aged care and paediatrics before founding Preferred Care. After founding Preferred Care, she worked in the business itself, taking on registered nurse shifts to help fill the gap she found in aged care.

Before becoming a nurse, Candice also worked in administration in banking, law and healthcare. Her nursing and administrative skills have come in excellent use in leading the Preferred Care team.

Outside of work, Candice enjoys going to the gym, spending time with her family and volunteering in her community.

Candice's favourite thing about working at Preferred Care:

“The passion our staff have for building genuine relationships with clients and members, and seeing their excitement as we grow – every win is celebrated as a big win! I love the care and support our staff show to our members and clients and the commitment, support and dedication our members have for our clients, working on the frontline and always doing their best. I also love the rapport I get to build with clients, and members. It’s nice to see perspective from both sides.”
